On 29 January 2026, the joint research project “Standardization roadmap for hydrogen technologies“ officially ended with the publication of the English version of the report. The German Maritime Centre contributed to the project by leading the working group on Shipping Traffic and through participation in the steering committee. The work will now be continued in a follow-up project.

The announced project “NRM H2plus” will be implemented by the partners DIN, DVGW, DKE, VDMA and VDI. It focuses on the technical regulations of hydrogen derivates such as ammonia and methanol, of liquid organic hydrogen carriers (LOHC) and cryogenic hydrogen as well as of the associated technologies. The involved institutions will soon invite to participate in developing the strategic framework of these topics.
