Maritime Germany in Singapore – Singapore Maritime Week 2026

Following its successful debut at Singapore Maritime Week (SMW) 2025, the German Maritime Centre (DMZ) has significantly expanded its international presence for 2026: with a German joint booth twice the size of the previous one, the DMZ sent a clear signal of the strength and unity of the German maritime sector on the global stage.

A strong signal from Germany

SMW ranks among the world’s most important maritime events and brings together decision-makers, innovators and industry representatives from all over the world in Singapore every year. From 20 to 24 April 2026, the trade fair once again offered a unique platform for international exchange and Germany was present with a large national joint booth.

21 maritime companies and institutions took the opportunity to present their innovative approaches, technologies and services to a global specialist audience. Shipping, ports, technology, digitalisation – the booth reflected the full diversity and innovative strength of the German maritime industry and made it clear: Germany as a maritime hub has a great deal to offer on an international level.

Engaging with visitors – 100 m² for exchange and networking

This year, the 100-square-metre booth area became more than just a traditional exhibition stand: alongside presentation tables, seating and hot drinks deliberately encouraged longer conversations and in-depth discussions. This atmosphere once again proved to be a key to success and many valuable contacts were formed in the relaxed atmosphere at the booth.

The DMZ’s joint booth achieved more than would have been possible for the individual participants: by having companies and institutions of varying sizes and specialisations appear side by side, a showcase was created for the full spectrum of the German maritime sector. The German presence gained particular visibility through the visit of Dr Wibke Mellwig, Head of the Waterways and Shipping Department at the Federal Ministry of Transport. Her visit provided a welcome opportunity for direct professional exchange between administration and industry.

Another highlight was the Expo Stage directly opposite the German booth. The DMZ and the exhibitors used this forum to present themselves to a broad international audience, pitch business ideas and approach potential cooperation partners.

Outcome: Networks, trends and new perspectives

Singapore Maritime Week 2026 has once again demonstrated how valuable an international presence is for the German maritime sector. Participants returned with new contacts, fresh insights into global maritime trends and practical starting points for future projects and collaborations.

The DMZ would like to thank all participating companies and institutions for their commitment and looks forward to continuing to represent the German maritime sector strongly and visibly on the world stage.
